Students who wish to apply for admission to a course of mine that requires instructor consent do not need to contact me during the pre-registration period, but should simply come to the first session. I do not make decisions about admission prior to the start of a course. This is so that I can make those decisions with the benefit of a full view of who’s interested, and so that students can decide whether they’re really interested after having a chance to hear me describe the class in more detail.
